August 19th, a walk through Prague and August 20th\u201428th, 2019, a hike from M\u011bln\u00edk to Sn\u011b\u017eka<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2026 what was all this compared to the blue moonlit night, to the stars that bathed in the mists and rose higher and higher, loved by visionaries and nomads of the desert? MONDAY, AUGUST 19<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n
A walk through Prague through poetry<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
We will meet at 10 am at Charles Square<\/em> by the lower fountain, near the house (today number 551\/34) where the poet Karel Hynek M\u00e1cha lived. From here we will set off on the route paths of poetry<\/em> of Prague poets to Vy\u0161ehrad and further along the N\u00e1plavka along the Vltava River to the National Theatre and across the Bridge of Legions to Kampa to the house where the poet Vladim\u00edr Holan once lived. \u2014 Along the way, we will talk a little about the poetry of the night and the relationship of some poets to the stars (Karel Hynek M\u00e1cha, V\u00e1clav B. Nebesk\u00fd, Jan Neruda, Otokar B\u0159ezina, Walt Whitman, Rainer Maria Rilke, Vladim\u00edr Holan, Franti\u0161ek Halas, Robinson Jeffers, Gary Snyder, Fernando Pessoa), or rather about the cosmic desire and cosmological dimension of their poetry and we will recall some of their poems. At the same time, we will talk about the new cosmology of the epic of evolution \u2013 especially the work of cosmologists Thomas Berry and Brian T. Swimm \u2013 thanks to which today, after a long caesura of separation, we are once again beginning to understand our human story as an integral part of the great story of the cosmos. We will read several excerpts from texts by Thomas Berry and from the newly published book by Brian T. Swimm The hidden heart of the cosmos<\/em> and we will talk about the ritual of the \u201ccosmic walk\u201d, which we will take the next day during our pilgrimage through Koko\u0159\u00edn. \u2014 From Kampa we will head up the slope of Pet\u0159\u00edn to the statue of Jaroslav Vrchlick\u00fd and then through Prague Castle and Chotkovy sady to Letn\u00e1, where we will have a short refreshment at the Alchymista caf\u00e9. From there we will continue via Stromovka to Troja and further through \u010cimick\u00fd and \u010e\u00e1blick\u00fd h\u00e1j to the observatory at L\u00e1dv\u00ed, from where at dawn on August 20, 1833, Karel Hynek M\u00e1cha set out on his legendary pilgrimage, his ritual of crossing across Bohemia to the Krkono\u0161e Mountains to Sn\u011b\u017eka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pilgrimage of the Giant Mountains<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
IN<\/strong> Tuesday, August 20<\/strong> We will set off at 7 am from the Praha L\u00e1dv\u00ed bus stop by bus to M\u011bln\u00edk, where we will arrive at 7:44 am. From the bus station we will head to the viewpoint at the M\u011bln\u00edk castle above the confluence of the Vltava and the Labe, where we will meet up with other pilgrims. From there, after 8 am, we will set off along the red M\u00e1cha path sign to the Chloume\u010dek district and at its edge we will turn off along the yellow sign through the forest and further along the field road to the village of Str\u00e1\u017enice and from there to Vysok\u00e9. There we will visit Farmstudio<\/strong> <\/em>our photographer, poet and adventurer friend Pavel Matela<\/strong> and we will look at the current exhibitions here; we will give an impromptu lecture about the new story of the universe and "spacewalk<\/strong><\/em><\/a>", which we will set off on after following the yellow trail to the pond in Harasov. The cosmology of the new story revealed to us that our existence is part of the only great evolutionary path of the universe, which goes back to its very beginnings and has been going on for 13.8 billion years. We have topographically projected this duration of evolution onto the Koko\u0159\u00edn landscape in the form of a 13.8-kilometer-long journey that begins in Harasov by the pond and ends in the beech forest behind Houska Castle at the \u0158\u00edp viewpoint. On this route, we will mark on the map the main events of the story of the universe, which we will explore and contemplate while walking through the landscape, and become aware of the vastness of the cosmic and geological time of the living Earth and the evolutionary dynamics of the universe, which gave birth to all the beings that we see around us today, including us. The conclusion of the journey on Houska will reveal to us the dizzying insignificance of our place in the space and time of the universe. We will visit the Na konci sil pub and We will spend the night at Hostince pod Houskou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, August 21<\/strong> we will go from Houska to Borejova<\/em>, where we will visit the church of St. James the Elder with a beautiful altarpiece of the pilgrim St. James by Ale\u0161 Krej\u010d. We will sit here for a while under the beautiful chestnut trees and then head through \u017dd\u00edrec and Okno to Bezd\u011bz, where we will climb the legendary mountain and castle of the same name. Bezdez<\/em>We will remember Karel Hynek M\u00e1cha and read his poem Night in the Gothic chapel. From Bezd\u011bz we will head to B\u011bl\u00e1 pod Bezd\u011bzem and from there follow the blue path through Bitouchov to the ruins of Zv\u00ed\u0159etice Castle, where we will spend the night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, August 22<\/strong> we will set off along the Jizera River to Mal\u00e1 B\u011bl\u00e1 and through Nov\u00e1 Ves to the Ra\u010dov National Nature Monument with its moorland meadows and wetland alders. We will stop at the spring of St. Prokop and continue around the Kloko\u010dka game reserve to the Hradi\u0161t\u011b nad Jizerou Monastery to Mnichov Hradi\u0161t\u011b. From there, after lunch, we will head to the Bohemian Paradise, first to M\u00e1cha's favorite rock castle Vale\u010dov and then further along the green to the Kom\u00e1rovsk\u00e9 pond, where we will swim. We will then set off to the Kost Castle and through Dob\u0161ice to Vyske\u0159, in front of which we will spend the night in a meadow by the forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Friday, August 23<\/strong> We climb the Stations of the Cross to the chapel on Vyske\u0159 (466 m above sea level) and from there we head to Hrub\u00e1 sk\u00e1la and further to Trosky. From Trosky follow the green and then the red trail through Mlad\u011bjov to the rock castle Pa\u0159ez, near which we spend the night in a rocky overhang. <\/p>\n\n\n

Saturday, August 24th<\/strong> we will follow the green trail through Prachov Rocks to Prachov and from there follow the blue trail through P\u0159iv\u00fd\u0161ina, Brad and Kbelnice to Ji\u010d\u00edn, where we will have lunch. We will walk along Wallenstein Avenue and visit the beautiful basalt hill of Zeb\u00edn with the chapel of Mary Magdalene, which is associated with the memory of Karel Hynek M\u00e1cha. We will go down to the Wallenstein Loggia, where we will see an installation dedicated to the mathematician and astronomer Johannes Kapler (1571-1630) and Albrecht of Wallenstein. We will see Kepler's model of the solar system from his Cosmographic Mystery<\/em> (1596) and a relief sculpture depicting the planets, including the Earth. In the evening we will head via \u017deleznica and Bradleck\u00e1 Lhota to the ruins of Bradlec Castle and further to the ruins of Kumburk Castle, where we will spend the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, August 25th<\/strong> We will travel from Kumburk along the red trail to Nov\u00e1 Paka and then further through Radkyn and Pecky. From there, along the yellow trail under Jelen\u00ed h\u0159bet to Borovnice and further under \u010cisteck\u00e1 h\u016fra (586 m above sea level), where we will spend the night at the edge of the forest.<\/p>\n\n\n

Monday, August 26 <\/strong>we will take the yellow route through \u010cisteck\u00e1 h\u016fra to \u010cist\u00e1 and from there we will continue along a dirt road to Bukovina and then along the road to Studenec; from there we will take the red route to Str\u00e1\u017en\u00edk hill (630 m above sea level). From Str\u00e1\u017en\u00edk, take the blue route to Martinice v Krkono\u0161e and then to Horn\u00ed Bran\u00e1. We will pass Horn\u00ed Bran\u00e1 and reach Valte\u0159ice and from there we will continue along the blue route to the foot of the Krkono\u0161e, where we will spend the night in the meadows under the forest and observe and contemplate the Milky Way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, August 27 <\/strong>We will follow the blue trail to the K\u0159\u00ed\u017eovka crossroads on the border of the Krkono\u0161e National Park and from there the yellow trail to P\u0159edn\u00ed \u017dal\u00fd (1018 m asl). We will then continue along the ridge through Rovinka to \u010cern\u00e1 sk\u00e1la (1038 m asl) to Mechovinec (1074 m asl) and Horn\u00ed M\u00edse\u010dky, from where we will descend to \u0160pindler\u016fv Ml\u00fdn, where we will have lunch. From \u0160pindler\u016fv Ml\u00fdn we will set off along the yellow trail through the B\u00edl\u00fd Elbe Valley on a stony path with beautiful stones and colored lichens to Lu\u010dn\u00ed bouda, where we will spend the night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wednesday, August 28<\/strong> We will climb to the sunrise on Sn\u011b\u017eka (1602 m above sea level). From the top of Sn\u011b\u017eka we will descend via Ob\u0159\u00ed D\u016fl to Pec pod Sn\u011b\u017ekou and from there we will return by bus to Prague; or we will take the road via Horn\u00ed M\u00edse\u010dky to Horn\u00ed Mar\u0161ov and from there by bus to Prague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do not provide accommodation in advance, we sleep under the open sky, under the stars. If you want to insure your accommodation, please book it yourself.
